I started playing the trumpet in grade school and continued until I graduated from high school. During that time, I was a member of the brass band. Also, while in high school, I joined a rock band and was the drummer. From this time in school, I was inspired to continue playing music from then on!

After graduation, I studied music at AN music school in Kyoto. I studied drums, arrangement, and music theory. 88' to 92' I joined a Rock band called AMURO. During that time, we released a CD AOAO from Teichiku Records Japan. That was my first recording in my professional career. We performed throughout Japan for five years.

 

In 94, I moved to New York City and passed an audition to enter DRUMMERS COLLECTIVE. I studied all kinds of grooves, rudiments, and new ideas, such as linear drumming and how to apply them in real music. While in N, Y I made my music video with Lincoln Goines (E.Bass) from Mike Stern Band, Mark Vinch (Sax) Tony Kadleck (Trumpet) John Fedchock (Trombone)-from "Maria Schneider Jazz Orchestra"

When I returned to Japan, I started to perform in the Kansai area again, not only Rock but jazz, Afro-Cuban, Brazilian, and so on. I also produced and played over 10 CDs with musicians from home and abroad.

I have been teaching drums for 30 years at AN music school in Kyoto, studio You and YAMAHA. I work as an independent artist, drum teacher, and producer with many years of touring, recording, and instructional experience.
